The push to create more energy efficient cars has been in the works for years, but a car that is fueled by chocolate? In a search for a CO2-friendly engine, Lotus Engineering has developed the Exige 270E Tri-Fuel, a sports car powered by chocolate, cheese and wine. The sugar from this decadent and delicious combination of “fuel” sources converts to ethanol (a gasoline substitute) to power the car. Fortunately the hungry sports car is not a finicky eater, running on whey ( a cheese by product), wine that doesn’t quite make the grade and surplus chocolate!? Still in the experimental phase, the Exige 270E is currently powered by gasoline and methanol along with the more palatable chocolate, cheese and wine…care to fill up anyone?
